English!

I wanted to take English IV in this semester, because I like to learn different languages, especially English. Besides, I need speak English fluently, because, I wpuld like go to France to study with my classmate and friend Noelle, and one the requirement is speak English or French. In our case, we think that is easier to improve in English than starting to learn French. Anyway, we started to go to French classes too.

In this sense, I like to use blogs, because I can practice English writing. Also, I can to widen my vocabulary, because I write about a variety of topics.

I know that I should improve my oral English. My problem is that I’m shy and it is difficult for me to speak in public, because my pronunciation is not good. And, I’m aware about the only way to improve my pronunciation is practicing, but I don’t know what to do… So, an idea is that I would like to take a course of English the next semester too. I don’t know if Ishould do this in the university or at an institute. However, this last option is very expensive for me… I think that the only way that I learn English is that I go to abroad.

Since last summer, I use English every day, because I exchange “Whatsapp’s” in this language with my boyfriend. He speaks English fluently, so, we communicate with messages so that I learn more vocabulary. Besides, I like to read manga (Japanese Comics), and I frequently read in English it. Other activity that I often do is to watch TV series (Gray's Anatomy and The Vampires Diaries) in English, but lately I haven't had free time to do this activity.

2013!

This year has been very important for me, because in April I graduated of Bachillerato en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales at Universidad de Chile. So, I became officially a student of Public Administration, which is the career that I selected. I love my career!

On other side, some achievements in 2013 had been, in the first place, my job as international monitor during the second semester. I met a lot of foreign people, but mostly American and French people. In second place, my participation in the Congress of Public Administration, which was done in Antofagasta. I went together with two of my friends and I knew people from other universities, but who study the same career. Besides, I learnt about the different perspective of every university in respect to the career. And, in the third place, my job as statistics tutor for the students of first level. When I was selected, I started to go to the Tutor School. Then, when I started with the tutorials, I participated in some training workshop about Strategy of Metacognition, Learning, Communication in the Classroom, etc.

However, there are some things that I didn't do. I wanted to learn to ride a bike and to practice swimming. But, I didn't have time for these things... I hope that next year I can do these activities. Besides, I would like to go to abroad; I want to study in France.

About events, a thing that I liked in this 2013 is the participation of III level, of career, in the EGGP Anniversary. In this opportunity, we won Alliances Game. So, we are two-time champions!

Green

I learnt about environmentally friendly practices by myself when I was in the school.
However, I haven't incorporated these practices into my habits, because it’s difficult to learn for my family about this topic, for example, about recycling: Although I have wanted to recycle in my house, it has been complicated; I feel that my parents and my sisters haven't taken the importance of recycling. So, the only that I have recycled by myself is paper. I collect the paper of the university that I will not use and I take it to recycling box in the Campus Juan Gomez Millas, University of Chile.
On respect to transport, I use the public transport, because I live far of the University and I can't go using a bike, besides, I don't know how to ride a bicycle.
In the University there is an eco-organization, Secretaría de Medio Ambiente. But I don’t take part of it, because I don’t have free time to work as active member.
If I had more free time, first place I would like to establish recycling in my house, in my house, by teaching my family how to recycle and why is important. Then, I would join to the organization in the University. Finally, I would like to learn about the compost.
On other side, I try to reduce my carbon footprint; I avoid throwing littler in the sites that I visit. Also, I clean up littler that other people leave. I think that in our society, in general, is missing education regarding being friendly to the environment.

Money

When I was child money has had a minor role. However, when I started the university studies money became an important topic because I was not used to manage it. Besides, I started to worry about my expenses and my money. So, I have learnt to value money and don’t spend it on the any things that came in my mind.

Today I study “with” educational scholarship and I receive financial assistance of the University, and I also work in the University. This has thought me to distribute my money and I think I have become good at managing my budget, because I always have in mind the expenses that I must do, besides my money isn’t too much, so I spend it on things that really I need, for example, I don’t spend my money on concerts, expensive food, etc. I try to spend my money in personal expense, generally, on food, public transport, medicine and clothes or shoes. Also, sometimes I save money to buy any piece of technology like a smartphone.

In other side, if I were a millionaire, I would like to invest in a big house for my family, in education for my sisters, in doctors for my parents, a good school for my nephew. Also, I would travel around the world; I would visit a lot of countries, wonderful places and I would fulfill my dream about knowing temples or ruins of ancient civilization.

If I ever had to pawn any of my belongings, I would have problems, because I don’t have anything of value! My only possessions are my teddy-bears, dolls, etc. The only think that can have a little value is Sashiko, my notebook, however I wouldn’t pawn, because it’s more precious to me that any amount of Money.

Climate change pledges: rich nations face fury over moves to renege

Developed nations have expressed your discomfort about on the failure of the world’s richer countries, this in relation of yours compromised about the change climatic and the manipulation of consequences, this because of the Typhoon Haiyan and the terrible results for the people in Filipinas.

About this, the political representative of least affluent countries said that the richer countries are behave of way irrational and unacceptable about the form they are speaking with de vulnerable countries, because no is acceptable that the poor countries are support the change climatic while the richer countries are who cause it.

My Ideal Job...

Since I was in the secondary school that I have been asking myself what my ideal job would be. However, I’m still not sure about this,

I think that I would be happy working in a Hospital or some public service of health. In this case, I would work in the administrative area: personal management or finances. In another case, I would like a job on site, because I wouldn't like to be always in an office, and I would like to see the results of job, I don't like to work in something that I don't know anything about.

So, I think the best job for me is to lead some project or program. With this purpose, I need to be a person with the ability to work in group, under pressure, but above everything else, I need to love what I’m doing.

I don't know why I would be good at this kind of job, I just feel that I would like to do it; in fact, I like to do it. I only know that I will work in the public service, because I think have a public vocation and I like feel that I can be a contribution to the State Administration.

Finally, I guess it’s difficult to find a job in which I feel well. In the future, I will not pick a job based on if that’s what I should be doing, but on life I like it specifically or not.

Election Day

Normally, if you ask me about the next elections, my answer should be: I can´t wait for this moment! But, in reality I don't want that moment to arrive, because, I still don’t know by which candidate I will vote for the next Sunday. In fact, I still don´t know who are the candidates that compete to be CORE (Consejeros Regionales).

The previous, doesn’t mean that I'm not interested in the matter, on the contraire, I'm very worried about the results, because, I think that none of the candidates have a strong program, one that give solution to the different problems of our society. So, I don't feel represented by some of the candidates.

Nowadays, the electoral campaign is, in general, divided between the politicians that have kept the power in the government and the independent politicians or those that represent new ideas, but don’t have the support necessary to become the future winner. In other side, some of the candidates to president only have dedicated to fight between then.

In this line, every person that to run for a public position has to be oriented to the public service. This person must have a profound public vocation. Also, the person must be a charismatic leader. When I think in this person, I remember Allende. Nevertheless, I never had wanted to become a politician, because I feel that I wasn’t born for it. Although, even though in my career, Public Administration, exists the mention Political Science, my professional profile is oriented to the Public Management. I know that I have public vocation, but I would like to apply it through public politicies, because my profile is more technical than political.

Finally, in my district, Puente Alto, people don´t believe in the electoral campaigns. My neighbors are bored of the promises of campaigns, and almost don't think in the vote as the way to change the problems of the citizens.
